Batch Two
Batch Two
Batch Two is allocated via a ballot system. Information can be found at the bottom of this page.
Batch Two is a marriage of whiskies from two separate casks. In March this year we drew whisky from two firkins—one first-fill bourbon and one first-fill Oloroso-just after both had reached their third birthdays. After sampling, we combined 70% from the bourbon cask with 30% from the Oloroso then left them to rest together in the bourbon cask. Six months later, the flavours have combined beautifully, resulting in a whisky that displays notes of vanilla, dried fruit, honey, lemon, black pepper, and fresh pencil shavings.
Barley: Planet from Ballavell Farm, Isle of Man, 2020 harvest.
Yeast: Lallemand DistilaMax MW - recycled (about 50% of the fermentations) and fresh (the remaining 50%). The recycled yeast used creates more funky flavours compared to the fresh one but the yields tend to be lower.
Distillation: 2.5x. Only the 100l still was used. The whisky was distilled between December 2020 and March 2021.
Cask: 70% first fill bourbon firkin, 30% first fill Oloroso firkin.
Age at bottling: 3 years.
ABV: 58.7%
Number of bottles: 83
Non-chill filtered, natural colouring and bottled at cask strength.
Each bottle contains 50cl and costs £78.
How does the ballot work?
- Go through the checkout as you would with any other purchase.
- Use your card as usual. When the order is confirmed we will place a hold on your account for the cost of the bottle (and shipping, if applicable).
- In some banking apps the hold may look like the money has already been transferred but this is not the case – it is still there even if you may not be able to see it. If you are successful the money will automatically be deducted from your account. If you are unsuccessful this hold will be released by us on Saturday morning. It depends on your bank how long it will take for you to see the balance, but in many cases it is instant.
- The ballot will be open for 48 hours - the last entry is on Friday, 8 November at 17:00 GMT.
- Ballot results will be shared on Saturday, 9 November.
Other terms and conditions
- We ship to the Isle of Man and the UK only. If you still want to participate in the ballot but live elsewhere, you will need to arrange for an address we can ship to in either of these two countries.
- Only one entry per customer. If we see efforts to submit multiple entries we reserve the right to cancel all entries.
