We were absolutely delighted last week when the results from World Whiskies Awards were unveiled - 1 Gold and 2 Silver medals! The Gold was awarded for Single Cask #9 bottling in the Young Spirits category. In addition to the gold medal, two silver medals were also awarded; one in the New Make Spirit category and one for a different Young Spirit entry. Young Spirit is a category for spirit that has spent between 6 and 24 months in cask and that is still too young to be called ‘Whisky’.
Winning the gold medal means that Single Cask #9 now has a chance at the title ‘The Worlds best Young Spirit’ which will be unveiled in March. The other competing distillates come from various countries, including Japan, Taiwan, England, Canada and Ireland.
